Chopperlines History

1977 City and Country Helicopters Pty Ltd established an operation at Bankstown in New South Wales offering helicopter pilot training and helicopter maintenance.
1978 Appointed distributor for Hiller Aviation for Australia and Papua New Guinea;
Commenced mining survey operations in Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia
1980 Established new office in Caloundra, Queensland and moved operation to Caloundra facility, consolidating exploration support services.
1981 Set up thirteen field bases to cover agricultural mustering operations and mining survey operations; Engineering division began overhauling components and manufacturing replacement airframe sections.
1985 Appointed as Robinson Helicopter Service Centre.
Appointed Australian distributor for Robinson Hiller Corporation.
1988 Chopperline’ selected as group trading name.
Official helicopter supplier for World Expo ’88; carried 46,000 passengers without incident on day and night flights.
1989 Training Contract: Gladstone Marine Pilot Transfer Contract for one of Japan’s largest helicopter operators; Training Contract: Ace Helicopter
1990 Training Contract: Tohoku Air Service (Tohoku Denryoku);
Training and Maintenance Contracts: Fijian Government Helicopter Unit.
Awarded Coastwatch contract for Australian Customs Service.
1992 Principal contractor to Airmobile Australia Pty Ltd for major contracts involving live-line maintenance in Victoria and South Australia.
1993 Gladstone Department of Environment & Heritage Reef Surveillance Contract (ex Gladstone) Pilot Training Contract: Royal Malaysian Police
1995 Training Contract: AirFlite Japan (capital of Toyota and Japan Air Line).
1997 Pilot Training Contract: Royal Malaysian Police.
2000 ‘Coastline Flight Training’ selected as fixed wing division’s trading name.
2001 Training contract: Malaysian Fire & Rescue Department.
2002 Tenth intake of officers and instructors from Royal Malaysian Police Air Wing.
2003 Sixth intake of officers from Malaysian Fire & Rescue Department.
May: a Squirel AS350 was purchased and added to our fleet of aircraft.
2004 Awarded Flying School of the Year – 2004, Aviation Safety Pty Ltd;
Also awarded Ian L Paull as Chief Flying Instructor of the Year – 2004, Aviation Safety PtyLtd. October: The school purchased a Schweizer 300 CBi helicopter to further expand the range of instructional aircraft.
2005 Installed a GeoSim CASA approved Category B helicopter flight simulator and began preparation for enhanced helicopter night and command instrument ratings. 
2006 CASA approved upgrade of Air Operator’s Certificate to cover helicopter command instrument rating; theory school capability expanded to cover IREX theory.
2007 Acquired by the Curry Kenny Aviation Group.
New owners began upgrading school equipment and ordered new aircraft, some of which have been delivered.
Heli-Centre Pty Ltd, our maintenance provider and Bell Customer Service Facility was also acquired by Curry Kenny Aviation Group in September.
New Robinson R44, Robinson R22 and Cessna 172 were purchased for Chopperline’s flight line.
2008 Two new Robinson R22 helicopters purchased for Chopperline’s flight line. New fixed wing simulator was installed
2009 Chopperline commences a 5 year contract for the Queensland Government Agency Maritime Safety Queensland providing marine pilot transfers to the ports of Gladstone and Hay Point.
Chopperline acquire 2 Eurocopter EC135 helicopters and commence on the 1st of January
