TRIAL INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT
TIF in a Robinson R22 or Cessna 172
A 30 minute trial introductory flight (TIF) is recommended for anyone looking at obtaining an aviation licence.
This ‘hands on’ experience will introduce you to the workings of a helicopter or an aeroplane, whichever you are interested in learning to fly.
Robinson R22 Helicopter $269.50 (30 mins)
The TIF starts with the instructor giving you a quick briefing about the aircraft on the whiteboard as well as a safety briefing. You are then shown around the aircraft where the instructor explains the effects of the aircraft’s controls.
Once in the air you will operate each control and during forward flight you will also be given the opportunity to take control of the aircraft. Low level flying, confined area, auto rotation and hovering are all covered in your adrenalin packed flight.
Cessna 172 Aeroplane $156.75 (30 mins)
The TIF starts with the instructor giving you a quick briefing about the aircraft on the whiteboard as well as a safety briefing. You are then shown around the aircraft and the effects of controls are explained.
On to the runway and into the air where you’ll be given the opportunity to operate each control. You will also be able take over all controls and experience the feel of the aircraft all on your own.
Flight time accumulated in the aircraft during the TIF will count towards required hours for your flight training should you choose to continue to gain your Commercial Pilot Licence.
